49 Church Road (Holywell Cottage)
Photograph and description of Holywell Cottage which was built in 1881 and lived in by the architect Clapton Crabb Rolfe who lived here for the last two years of his life. He was the father of Benedict Rolfe who took many pictures of Wheatley. C C Rolfe died in 1907, but his wife continued to live here, anyway until 1920 (Kelly directory). He and his wife, Annie, nee du Pre are buried in the churchyard. Sold in 1933 to Sarah Ann Watts, then Bax in 1941. Sold again in 1978.
