Edwin William John Turner born 1894, married Mary Jane Webb. He was a cycle maker/agent in Forest Hill in the 1920s-1930, but in 1934 and 1942, he was a garage proprietor living in and trading from several sites, one west of the Kings Arms in London Road and another on the south side of Old London Road, see next paragraph. He died in 1959.

Ronald William Turner, the second son of Edwin William John Turner, ran another garage called The Firs, on the comer of Church Road and Holloway, opposite the Roundhouse - this fronted Holloway Road where he had a petrol pump and he lived in one of the two dwellings created from Morland Lodge, see record 696. The family also owned Brookside Motors on the Old London Road, see record 1566. On his father's death (and as his elder brother had been killed in a motorcycle accident). he took over the various businesses. In the 1950s,Brookside Motors was moved to the north side of London Road (see records 911 and 1557), adjacent to the Last Chance Cafe, closing the business on Old London Road. The premises west of the Kings Arms were taken over by Highfield Motors, see record 1564.

Edwin Henry Turner, the third son of Edwin William John Turner' was born 13 March 1930 in Forest Hill and married Joy Badcock . In 1953, he was a shop manager and lived at The Cottage, Blenheim Lane. By 1955, he was a cycle dealer and the business my have started at 91 Church Road, part of the Turner's Motors site, see record 731) and he was then living at Park End (this may have been the last house in Park Hill, number 25, previously known as The lodge and lived in by William Avery, see record 2497). Edwin Henry, by then known as Ted Turner, took on the radio and bicycle side of the business, which was run from his premises in the High Street, see record 1171. By 1960, he was then living at ‘Windward’, Church Road - location not known.
