Traffic survey 2013.
The Wheatley Society has been involved in several initiatives to highlight traffic issues in the village, mainly through monitoring of traffic flows illustrated by these examples for evening rush hour down Ladder Hill:
- Feb 1978: 107; May 1978: 102; May 2004: 118
- Dec 2013: 562; massive increase on figure for 1978/2004.
Plus other data for morning and evening rush-hour traffic at key locations in the village and environs, supplemented by OCC data for 2008 and 2013.
This resulted in the formation of a Traffic Action Group involving village residents meeting at the Railway Inn with the aim of persuading local councilors to take action.
