Numbers 1 & 3 were originally part of the Bell Inn. All these properties are 18C or earlier with Chillingworth House, and the Bell Inn, dating back to before 1612. It is believed that the facades of Chillingworth House and 1 and 3 Bell Lane were re-built in brick in the 1860s after William Chillingworth acquired these properties in satisfaction of a debt.
