History of the W.I. formed in 1919 since when its meetings have always been held in the Merry Bells. The inaugural meetings are shown on record 2561.

In December 1925, when Mrs Miller was president, a whist drive was held and raised £5. The following gave prizes Misses Briggs, Miss Barns, Miss Harding and Alex Hilsdon. Other names Miss F Cullum, A Castle, F Fowler, Mrs J A Brown, W Whiting. Music by R Brandom (piano), Mr Wing (violin), A Bathard (jazz).

Boxes are held in a cupboard in Merry Bells and need special access
